Bar Exam Tutoring

The bar exam is the last hurdle between you and practicing law. Failing means another six months of study, financial strain, and a delayed start to your career. Most students who fail aren't doing the wrong amount of work — they’re doing the wrong kind. That’s what I help fix.

I failed the Bar several times and went through four or five tutors before I began working with Sean. I passed on my next attempt.

Why the bar exam is hard

The bar isn’t just a knowledge test. It's a stamina test, a writing test, and a triage test. You’re expected to recall the law across more than a dozen subjects, spot issues quickly, structure essay responses under time pressure, and produce a performance test that simulates real lawyering — all over two intense days.

Most failures aren’t from not knowing enough law. They come from weak issue spotting, poor essay structure, mismanaged time, or burning out before exam day.

My bar exam background

I passed the California Bar Exam on my first attempt. Since then I’ve worked with a wide range of law graduates preparing for the bar, helping them build effective essay, performance test, and MBE strategies.

Whether you’re taking BARBRI, Themis, Kaplan, AdaptiBar, or self-studying, I work alongside whatever program you’re using rather than replacing it.

How I work with bar takers

My approach focuses on clear, structured rule statements, effective issue spotting, and disciplined practice under timed conditions.

A typical engagement includes:

  • Essay practice and review with detailed written feedback on structure, rule statements, application, and time management

  • Performance test coaching — how to read the file efficiently, organize the analysis, and produce a polished response in 90 minutes

  • MBE strategy and review — drilling on the question types and subjects you miss most

  • Issue-spotting practice through targeted fact patterns calibrated to your weakest subjects

  • Timed simulations to build the stamina and pacing you'll need on exam day

Sessions are remote and structured around your bar prep timeline.
